Sparkling Apple Pear Cider (Juicer Recipe)
Last fall I was visiting a local farmers market and bought the most delicious cider that I have ever tasted. What made this apple cider so tasty? It was an apple and pear cider. These two fall fruits make the most fantastic combination and their flavors compliment each other as if they were meant to go together. This year I was not able to make it to the market to buy this precious cider. I decided to try to make my own version and skip the store-bought stuff, which is often pasteurized and can contain added preservatives. My homemade Sparkling Apple Pear Cider takes the gold!
Typically when I juice at home I stick with a recipe that is high in vegetables to prevent sugar overload. This time to help cut the sweetness and increase the fancy factor of this fall drink, I added sparkling water. I have been asked what makes this recipe a cider and not a juice. Juice has been filtered and pasteurized to stay fresh longer, which also removes any healthy enzymes that may be present. On the other hand, cider is raw juice that has not undergone a filtration process, which keeps healthy enzymes intact.
Naturally Sweet
When juicing with fruit the great thing is that you don’t need to add any additional sweetener. Fruit is sweet enough, am I right? If I can, fruit is my number one go-to sweetener. In the summer, I make lemonade in my juicer and use only fruit to add sweetness instead of sugar. Now you can make healthier versions of your seasonal favorites at home, any time you want. Quench your thirst with this Sparkling Apple Pear Cider!
