The Peppermint Mocha Matcha Latte is Here
I am currently obsessing over tea. I was never a big tea drinker, but I read about the health benefits of drinking certain kinds of tea. So about a year ago I started drinking tea for the added nutritional boost. I was pretty boring when it came to tea; I’d drink it plain, no sweetener or anything. It was really just that: boring.
I wanted to spice up my tea drinking experience. I started experimenting and have blown my own mind with how awesome tea can be to drink. In fact, I have mostly stopped drinking coffee in the morning and instead drink a tea latte. I know — crazy. Never thought I would be saying that.
I’ve also heard so much about matcha and have always wanted to try it, but never purchased it. My grocery store finally started carrying a brand that looked really good. It was 100% matcha powder, organic, and reasonably priced (plus it was on sale). I knew it was time to give it a try. I’ll be honest it doesn’t smell that great, so I knew I had to do something more creative then just add it to hot water. Since it is the holiday season, I’m all about tea, and I wanted to try matcha — the Peppermint Mocha Matcha Latte was born.
It you have never tried or heard of matcha, then I am sure you are not alone. When you use matcha you are essentially using the whole leaf (which is stone ground) versus traditional green tea where you are just steeping the leaf in hot water. In turn, concentration of the antioxidants available from drinking matcha is at least three times greater than the amount available from other commercially-available green teas, which are simply steeped.
Matcha contains several dozen times more antioxidants than blueberries, pomegranates, orange juice, spinach, or dark chocolate. Antioxidants are important for supporting a healthy immune system, fighting signs of aging, and supporting a healthy digestive system. Plus it keeps your brain and liver functioning well.
Need another reason to try it? Try this Peppermint Mocha Matcha Latte. You’ll be hooked.
