Strawberry White Hot Chocolate (Dairy Free)
I couldn’t help myself. I’m in the Valentine’s Day spirit and had to create another treat, perfect for two.
Be sure to check out my Chocolate Fruit Crisp, a dessert also meant to be shared with someone you love.
Who doesn’t love a good cup of hot chocolate? What if I told you that you could easily make a strawberry white hot chocolate with only 5 REAL food ingredients? Would you be as excited as I am? I thought so! You are in luck because I have created just that for you – just in time for Valentine’s Day.
If you take a look at any package of white chocolate you will usually find added ingredients, which I personally try to stay away from in the name of health. A main difference between white chocolate and milk or dark chocolate is the lack of cocoa solids.
Cocoa Butter is a Natural Aphrodisiac
When you remove the cocoa solids you remove most of the flavor, so to make white “chocolate” other ingredients must be added – like sugar, lecithin (usually soy), and other flavorings for taste. Cheap versions may not contain cocoa butter at all. I prefer to use cocoa butter alone and add my own flavorings so I know they are top quality.
Cocoa butter is the fat from cocoa beans, which is extracted from cocoa beans as they are processed to make chocolate and cocoa powder. Using the butter from cocoa is the perfect way to add the flavor of chocolate without other unnecessary additives. Perfect for a cozy cup of Strawberry White Hot Chocolate.
Cuddle up with someone special and share this warming beverage any time of the year!
Ingredients
- 1 cup full fat coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup or raw honey
- 1 Tablespoon cocoa butter you could use coconut oil or coconut butter but it will not have the same chocolate-y flavor
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
-
Add all of the ingredients to a small sauce pan over medium low heat.
-
Warm through until the cocoa butter is melted, strawberries are thawed, and the coconut milk is warm, but not boiling.
-
Add the mixture to a blender (being careful to start slow as the liquid is hot) and blend until smooth.
-
Serve immediately.

Choose organic ingredients when possible.
beautiful styling! looks delightful for spring 🙂
Thank you!
This looks great! Where do you buy the cocoa butter? Do you buy a certain brand? Thank you!
I have a link in the post to where you can get it on Amazon or I have seen it at Natural Grocers and some Whole Foods. I just try to find an organic brand…there are a few to choose from. Any one will do.

This sounds great! I have never cooked with cocoa butter but I would like to try it sometime.
Sounds Exotic. I really must check out the cocoa butter. I could use a cup of that chocolate right now. YUM!
Cocoa butter will change your life!
Yum what a perfect way to end the day, cuddles on the couch and two of these hot cuppas. I’ve never tried to make anything like this before but looking through your ingredient list has me ready and raring to get started. Coconut milk, maple syrup, cocoa butter, strawberries.. literally heaven right there. 🙂
Love, love, love this!!! It is beautiful and such a great twist on normal hot chocolate. Hot chocolate is like my favourite drink, bar coffee, so I can’t wait to try this!
I hope you love it as much as I do!
Such an amazing vegan hot cocoa! Delish!
I love this recipe! When I was a kid, my mom used to make me strawberry milk, but I think I would enjoy this a lot more with the white chocolate and the real strawberries rather than powdered! I also love the idea of using coconut milk which is my favorite! Can’t wait to try it! 🙂
For sure…no powder here only real food. I am a huge coconut milk love too…you will love this!
This looks super duper delicious, and it is so pretty – perfect for Valentine’s Day. I love white chocolate, and the combination with strawberries, especially for a cold winter evening, sounds perfect. Thanks!
I hope you enjoy it!
This recipe looks delicious! I never had strawberry white hot chocolate – how lovely sounding! I’m excited to try this – on my next stop to Whole Foods, I’m going to look for cocoa butter! 🙂
You really need to try it! You can also use cocoa butter to make homemade lotion and beauty products.
This looks and sounds delicious! And I love the way you made it healthier by using the cocoa butter. I didn’t know how much more sugar white chocolate had in it than my dark chocolate. Thanks for enlightening me.
Oh my goodness, this sounds SO good! i’ve never thought to try anything like this before.
This hot chocolate looks absolutely delicious! Love white chocolate!
OMG! That sounds yummy!
One little bit of constructive criticism. The link provided is not food grade cocoa butter. Now, that being said I don’t know how bad non-food grade can be for you. Just pointing out that you “should not” consume cocoa butter that isn’t food grade.
Thank you for pointing that out! I have changed the links.
I’m happy that you shared this Strawberry White Hot Chocolate recipe with us. It’s really nice. Thanks, Sara for sharing this wonderful recipe.
